One donor for three different recipients

On Feb 8, 2002, we successfully completed three organ transplants from one donor for three different patients, that was liver, kidney, kidney combining pancreas, respectively.
With the development of new kind of immunosuppressant and operation technique, the number of hospitals increased faster and faster, organ deficit became the major obstacle for the development of organ transplantation. To fully utilize organs from one donor was one of the method to resolve this deficit in a certain degree. Combined organs procurement could guarantee the integrity of all the organs, it was the feasible method in organ transplant.
We recognized the seriousness of organ deficit and the importance of resolving this problem at the beginning phase of organ transplant. Now, we had completed hundreds of combined organ procurement, lots of experience was accumulated and it was the promise for the success of transplant.
