1、 Sun Protection

Now that summer has finally arrived, we would like to remind parents that your child should be coming to school properly equipped for the sunny weather. Please make sure that your child has a hat and sun block sent to school along with him/her and change the spare clothing in his/her bag to reflect the warmer temperature. Thank you.

2、Spring Picnic – Saturday, May 29th

MSB, in conjunction with MSB Circle of Friends, will be hosting its annual spring picnic this Saturday, May 29th at the Cherry Tree Lane campus. We invite parents, children, and siblings to join us from 12:00n until 2:30pm for an afternoon of fun games and wonderful food. MSB staff members will operate a huge variety of games and activities for the children to participate in. Please remember to bring lots of sun block, a blanket to set up your picnic and a bathing suit (if your child wants to join the water games)!

3、Children’s International Day – Tuesday, June 1st

MSB will be celebrating Children’s International Day on Tuesday, June 1st. Each child is invited to come to school in his/her national or regional clothing. Children are also requested to bring a snack from their home country to share with their classmates (no nuts may be included in the snack). Past celebrations have included: cowboys (and girls), traditional Chinese clothing, Royal Canadian Mounties, Welsh coal miners and many more. Parents are also encouraged to join in and dress up for the event!

4、Whiffenpoof Performance Wednesday, June 2nd

Parents and children will once again have the opportunity to be serenaded by the Yale a cappella group, the Whiffenpoofs on Wednesday, June 2nd. The “Whiffs” will be performing in the Cherry Tree Lane sports hall from 9:15am onwards – they put on a show that you won’t soon forget, so please join us!

5、Art Show – Thursday, June 3rd

On Thursday, June 3rd our children will have an opportunity to showcase the artwork that they have created throughout the year. We welcome all of our parents to join us from 4:30 to 6:00pm at Cherry Tree Lane for some light refreshments and a viewing of MSB’s budding artists’ work. You will be able to take your child’s framed piece only at the end of the show.

6、 MSB Let’s Show! – Friday, June 11th

The Elementary children at MSB will present a series of short performances on Friday, June 11th in the “MSB Let’s Show!” assembly. The pupils have been hard at work honing their presentations and are looking forward to showing the whole school what they can do. Please join us from 9:15am at the Cherry Tree Lane sports hall for this wonderful event.

7、Leaving Early?

If your family is leaving early for the summer holiday we ask that you inform the admissions office in advance. This will allow us to pass on your child’s report card to the proper mailing address when they are distributed. Reports will be handed out on the last day of school, June 18th, so it is imperative that you provide your most up-to-date mailing address in the event that your family will be out of school that day.

8、Reception Request

The Reception classes at Cherry Tree Lane will be doing an art project for which they need adult-sized shoe boxes. If you have any shoe boxes to donate, please deliver them to the either Sarah in the reception office, or to Natasha and Veronique directly. Thank you for your assistance.

9、 Library Updates

Anyone who has found themselves in the MSB library over the last few weeks will have noticed a new selection of books for parents is available. Sharon has created a parent lending library with books focused around child development and education.

Parents should also be aware that library lending will be finished for the year as of today Friday, May 28th. While you are welcome to still use the library as you want to, children will not be allowed to check books out. The comprehensive recollection and inventorying of books takes a great deal of time. Thank you for your understanding.
