Interpreters are usually given material beforehand and are expected to be fast learners to clearly understand what the client wants and what their products and services are about. Sometimes ,an inhouse employee will perform the interpretation, or would question or correct the recruited interpreters from time to time. As this person is more knowlegible about the business operation, our interpreters take the opportunity to learn and take notes. Under such circumstances, the interpreters accept that they will take a background role and offer assistance if required.
The workload of business interpretation is usually quite high and interpreters have to be on call from time to time, but of course, the pay is relatively higher.
